POSITION TITLE: Junior Graphic Artist

TERMS OF REFERENCE
A. BACKGROUND
The ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) is an intergovernmental regional centre of excellence established through an agreement among the Governments of the Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2005. The ACB facilitates cooperation and coordination among the members of the ASEAN, and with relevant national governments, regional, and international organisations, on the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of such biodiversity in the ASEAN region. Since its establishment, the ACB has lived up to its mandate of strengthening national and regional capacity for biodiversity conservation.
Through its Communication Department, the ACB enhances the awareness among policymakers and the public on the values of biodiversity and the need for conservation and sustainable management. The ACB produces and disseminates information and knowledge materials; develops and implements advocacy and public information initiatives; and conducts media and public relations activities.
The ACB is looking for a Junior Graphic Artist who will provide support in the preparation of communication, education, and public awareness (CEPA) materials of the ACB.
B. SCOPE OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Multimedia Officer, the Junior Graphic Artist shall provide support in the preparation of CEPA materials for targeted stakeholders of the ACB. The Junior Graphic Artist will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Communication Department in conceptualising CEPA materials
- Support in designing graphics for digital and print media
- Create visuals for events and workshops
- Perform other related tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor(s) from time to time.
C. QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Work Experience
● Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, Fine Arts, Mass Communication, Development Communication, or other related fields; or at least 2 years relevant work experience in graphic design
Skills
● Proven experience in graphic design and layout
● Proficient in using Adobe Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
● Knowledgeable in design and has strong attention to visual details
● Adept at working with various team members through face-to-face and collaborative online space
● Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
● Background in branding and photography is an advantage, but not required
Nationality
● Must be a national of the Philippines
